Business Alliance Announces Expansion Plans --Building on 22 Year History Working with Entrepreneurs and Young Companies

MCLEAN, VA, February 25, 2010 --At a Business Alliance membership meeting held last week, participants voted unanimously that the group should remain an independent 501c(3) membership organization, and expand its longstanding programs serving entrepreneurs and growing companies to support a broader range of industries, academic research/partnership relationships, and geographic locations.

The organization (formerly the Business Alliance of George Mason University, Inc.) has reincorporated as the Business Alliance, Inc. and is the process of rebranding as the Business Alliance for Innovation and Entrepreneurship™  to emphasize its primary focus going forward--supporting early stage and growing companies through networking, education, collaboration and research.

According to Business Alliance President Rodney Lusk, "We look forward to sharing our 22 years of organizational experience working with early stage companies and faculty entrepreneurs to help more young companies and innovators grow and become successful."

The Business Alliance has calendared upcoming dates for its signature programs--including the Business Alliance Grubstake Breakfast™, its annual Bootcamp for Growing Companies and Entrepreneurs and the Mid-Atlantic Innovation Showcase™, and also will begin hosting seminars and peer networking opportunities for entrepreneurs later this year.

The Business Alliance Grubstake Breakfast™ is the longest running investor and networking forum in the region.  Companies seeking $250k-2M should apply by March 5th to present their investment opportunities at the March 25th Business Alliance Grubstake Breakfast™ at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner, VA.

The Business Alliance also has made it more affordable for start-ups, growing companies, researchers and others interested in entrepreneurship and innovation to join the organization; and, will be adding more member-only privileges to the current member benefits during the coming year.
