Bootcamp Scholars Program
At the Bootcamp, student scholars and faculty entrepreneurs who are transferring technologies into commercial applications will have the opportunity to learn from more than 40+ CEO's, VC's and other experts who will share their experience regarding business funding, sales and marketing, transitioning to entrepeneurial careers, staying abreast of market issues and new technologies (including web 2.0; security and energy/clean technology), forecasts for 2010 and beyond, and more.
Who May apply? --Student Scholars
The Entrepreneur Center at NVTC-Business Alliance Bootcamp student scholarships are intended to support registration for full time university students who are seriously interested in starting their own businesses. Therefore, Students studying business management, technology, bioscience, engineering, neuroscience, nonprofit management, instructional design, health-related information technology, international commerce, arts management, instructional design, law, sport management, and telecommunications all are equally eligible.
Who May apply? --Faculty Entrepreneurs
The Entrepreneur Center at NVTC-Business Alliance Bootcamp faculty entrepreneur scholarships are intended to support registration for full time faculty members who are in the process of commercializing their research/technology through licensing/spin-out into a new venture.
Application Process: Student Scholars
To apply, students should use the online application form to submit a $20.00 registration fee and a description of the student's current field of study, entrepreneurial goals, and learning objectives for his/her time at the Bootcamp as soon as possible and no later than Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Students selected to attend the Bootcamp will be asked to take notes on at least one of the sessions and to submit the notes with a paragraph regarding what he/she learned at the Bootcamp to the Business Alliance office by 3/6/09.
Application Process: Faculty Entrepreneurs
To apply, faculty entrepreneurs should use the online application form to submit a $20.00 registration fee and a description of the faculty member's current field of teaching and research, the technology/research he/she is commercializing, and the status of that process to date. Faculty members are asked to submit a paragraph to the Business Alliance office after the Bootcamp sharing what information they most valued from their attendance at the event by 3/9/09.
