History The Business Alliance of George Mason University "formerly Century Club of GMU, Inc.®" was founded in 1988 to enhance the educational experience within George Mason University's School of Management by integrating business experience in the classroom, and to support the development of the University's Entrepreneurship Center [now known as the Mason Enterprise Center]. During the next decade, Business Alliance activities expanded to the School of Law, the School of Information Technology and Engineering and New Century College. In the spring of 1997, the Business Alliance's Board of Directors revised the mission statement to emphasize the organization's expanded role facilitating partnerships throughout the university. Programs supported by the Business Alliance must emphasize the use of members' time and expertise (not $) as a resource, and must be valued by both the university partner(s) and the Business Alliance membership.
